Here's what you need to know: 1. The presentation is conducted entirely in French. 2. The guide speaks very (VERY) fast so don't count on your high school French to get you through! Take a Rosetta Stone course before you go. Or better yet, bring an interpreter. Regardless-- you are there for the visual not the audio. 3. It's cold... More

Wow! This was our first time star gazing with telescopes and it was an amazing experience for us. We could not have asked for a better night, absolutely no clouds in the sky. We had booked the 10pm star gazing program that last approx. 2.5 hours. The guides have a great sense of humor. We had a great time! If... More

My gf and I booked the full event starting at midnight and ended at 4:30am. At 12am we watched a PowerPoint presentation about space. Then at 1am we watched another presentation about space. At 2am we went up to the observatory thinking we can watch the stars for the rest of the night...when we got there we were told to... More

I booked this event as a surprise during my mother's visit. When making the reservation, I tried to get a copy of the lecture so that I could have key points translated for her since the event is supposed to be French only. I was told that while the evening is in French, the guides will translate upon request and... More

Ride your car to the top of Mont Mégantic to enjoy the view ( height : 1100 m) You can book a night presentation and see the stars thru one of their huge telescopes.

Went there during the 'Perséides' (August shooting stars). Unfortunately the clouds were so thick I could not see my hands... But they still managed to entertain us, even in the bus on the way up and down, and gave us access for the next day. The museum at the bottom is well organised, clean, informative and interesting. Their show was... More

Excellent tour of the observatory and the night sky. The guides had set up 3 telescopes for us and gave us a magnificent tour of the night sky.

This is a great place to go if you are interested in astronomy. The Astrolabe and both observatories are run by the Université de Montreal and Université de Laval. This ensures that the quality of the presentations are scientifically correct and current. The presentations at the Astrolab located at the base of Mont Mégantic cover a wide variety of astronomical... More

My husband is an amateur astronomer and we voluntéer at our local observatory. We also don't speak much French. The Friday night festival involved a very profesional slide show at the base as well as two observations at each of the domes. Well worth the money!
