Stopped in for a quick visit while picking up a parcel. Interesting history and art. The art war really quite interesting and unexpected to me. The prehistoric history was also very interesting. Did I mention this place is FREE! so just go. Its great.

Entrance is free however entry to the observation tower has a fee. USD. Adults $2; age 13-18 50 cents; 12 and under free. The gift shop has very reasonable prices as well. A very nicely done little museum that hosts exhibits as well.

This is an impressive little free (donation) museum right by the border. Well worth at least a 30 min detour before crossing the border. Lots of great local history and displays showing life in the Pembina Valley 100+ years ago.

Stayed over night here before crossing into Manitoba. Cool little town a lot of history. My oldest daughter and I explored the area through my favorite hobby, geocaching.

Small but well-appointed museum with traveling exhibits in addition to the static exhibits. Has an observation tower you reach by elevator or stairway where you can see into Canada!

Stopping by the US-Canada border crossing at Pembina, North Dakota, is usually reserved for a gas fill-up or duty free shopping, but just beyond the little gas/shop stop is a delightful little museum, the Pembina State Museum. The impressive building features an observation tower offering...More

Large equipment, such as cars, tractors and even old 'school buses' the kids would ride in behind their horses in the snow were well displayed. Some older buildings and a church were available for viewing, along with a railroad station and waiting room. I enjoyed...More
