Just came back from a week long family event. 120 of us took over Half Moon Bay for the week The housekeeping staff was exceptional. They were able to keep our rooms clean and towels refreshed everyday. Wonderful views ... turtle hatching... etc.

Here's hoping they don't put any huge hotels on Half Moon Bay!! We rented a villa,with great views and had a wonderful time. We could walk to restaurants,and the village,very relaxing

Half Moon Bay is like an oasis compared to the craziness Akumal Bay and beach have become and the many beach clubs up and down the coast. With that said, it is not for everyone. No night life, clubs- which is a plus for us....More

We stayed at the point between Ya-kul Lagoon and Half moon bay I would say that the reef in this bay is still healthy, by far the healthiest in the area. We rented a house and car. Next time I will probably spend money on... More

It isn't really beach from Akumal Bay to Half moon bay: it's coral so it's very rough and uneven. Don't picture a walk along a sandy beach. The only sandy beaches are around the bays themselves. We walked regularly from... More

I do agree with Sandy...the Bahia Principe may be your best bet!
