We have lived in the area for 27 years and always walked past the museum because of the modern unattractive frontage. All this has now changed because of a substantial bequest that has enabled the frontage to be transformed and a curator to be appointed...More

We went with 3 young chldren but were disappointed to receive a cold welcome and the children's activity that week was not well led. It would have been a waste if I had not guided the children- not only my own, but others too.More

What a treasured and cherished town Amersham is. The Museum shows it off to great advantage with it's ancient walls and beams, hands on displays and delightful medicinal garden. My grandchildren loved playing with the traditional games. Bowles and bagatelle especially.More

Tucked in amongst the houses and shops of Old Town Amersham is this lovely little museum with an interesting insight into the local history.

We enjoyed our visit to the museum, great value and if you go in the Summer you can sit in the little garden. The staff were so lovely and informative.

Anybody interested in local history going back to mediaeval times should make a visit. Very good for children too.
