Shardeloes offer classes for all experiences and uniquely have a full sized mechanical horse if you want to try riding without the horse character thrown in. They are on the top of rolling hills with small forests on the side so great and varied hacking directly on the grounds traffic free. They take time to match your abilities to the... More

My daughter went their for a few year learning to ride and was very happy about. The staff is very friendly and instructors are very good. The environment is also quite relaxing.

I have been riding at this stables for several years now and continue to be impressed by the range of horses available, as well as the quality of teaching available. In all the time I have ridden here I have only had one mildly disappointing lesson - the others (over 250 by now) have all been great - and that's... More

I booked my teenage daughter 4 riding lessons at this riding centre never having been here before. It's not cheap but everything was good quality - facilities (indoor and outdoor school), ponies full of pep and well groomed and the level of instruction. My daughter really liked the experience and her riding really improved over the four days. We will... More

What a lovely place. Free open day. Arrived at 11am as it had just opened. Took my 4 year old Grandson James. Free pony ride, free bouncy castle, free face painting. Only downside was leaving. As it is down a one track road the traffic coming and going was awful. Took us half an hour to get to main road.

I was shocked by Quaxie's comment about the lack of things for advanced riders. Shardeloes has a great selection of horses for intermediate/advanced riders (they have staff training for BHS Stages 3 & 4) and, since I started riding there in March, I have received consistently fabulous instruction from Beth - varied, stretching & interesting but not at all patronising.... Daughter loves the place and is now an avid rider. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and fabulous surroundings ensure you can trot, canter or gallop while drinking in the scenery safe in the knowledge traffic is but a sound carried on the wind.

Shardeloes riding school is situated in a beautiful landscape and generally ok for beginners but doesn't have much to offer for more advanced riders. Most riding instructors are quite friendly but some of them seem to try and "kill time" rather than take a real interest in helping students make significant progress. It also seems that no group lessons are... More

I first started to ride here about two years ago and loved it so much that I frequently have lessons. The yard is very clean (which is quite hard being surrounded by horses!) and the staff are very polite and helpful. The facilities are great, from a hydrotherapy spa to indoor and outdoor arenas and not to mention the 500... More

Looking around for something to do with my six year old niece, I came across their website [--] To book her lesson I sent an email and had a friendly and fast answer, covering expectations and kit hire. Having never had lessons she went on their mechanical horse for both instruction and assessment - half an hour later she was... More
