We had a delightful evening here. The food was lovely. The place was bouncing. Staff coped very well with a lot going on. We booked and pre ordered for our meal, and were not disappointed, cheeseboard was lovely, just not enough!

Stayed at Holly Cottage which is attached and owned by The Pig and Whistle Pub/Restaurant. Fantastic stay, brilliant hosts, brilliant food in pub and absolutely beautiful, beamed cottage. Will definitely be returning 5*****

A group of 8 stayed in Cartmel for a week and 4 of us tried the Pig and Whistle, off the back of a glistening reputation from where we were staying. The menu contained some interesting dishes, none of which really seemed to combine well...More

This pub is a traditional, cosy, friendly little bar with good beer which also has a very decent restaurant. Dog-friendly, and the garden is very pleasant- it is a superb suntrap, and has an easy view over the fields to village cottages. I note some...More

Unpretentious village pub serving decent food at a reasonable price. Music on the night we visited was good but a bit loud whilst eating but we could no doubt have sat elsewhere! Had pie with all the trimmings which was obviously homemade and very good....More

Very nice little pub, on the outskirts of the village. Food and drinks very nice, good range of beer, good quality and food made to order, staff are very friendly. Reccomend to anyone who likes small pub lunches.
