Situated on the Southern tip of Lake Windermere. Lakes Aquarium has a wide range of native marine and freshwater fish including Pike, Arctic Char, Seahorses and more. It is also home to Asian shortclawed otters, pygmy marmoset monkeys, Clown fish and amazing leaf cutter ants. Cafes and giftshops are available onsite and we can be reached by Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway or Windermere Lake Cruise as well as by car. Please note the car park is not owned by the aquarium and is pay and display. We are sorry but we cannot allow dogs inside the aquarium building.

Exhibits easily viewable by young toddlers no need to constantly be lifting them up which I liked so I guess this makes it wheelchair friendly too. Pushchairs welcome and there was a convenient lift. However it's quite narrow so I imagine during busier times a...More

It only took about an hour to go round and that was on a busy day. For nearly £20, it wasn't worth the money. The walkway is narrow and in parts you just have to wait for it to clear. What we saw was good...More

Such an amazing place and would highly recommend going there on your own, as couples/groups or with children.

Nice place for a quick visit, with interesting exhibits. Walk through underwater tunnel was good. Combination ticket with Lake Windermere cruise saves money too.

Had 2 for 1 admission offer so paid £14. Being honest it was not even worth that. Just nothing of interest having been to other aquariums in Oban and Queensferry this was a very poor visit.More

Took only 20 minutes to do the whole place. The animals were in cages that I thought were far too small. The animals looked in bad condition . It was a sunny afternoon and the place was really crowded.More
