On a nice clear winters day we took our 2 dogs to Carsington for a change from the usual walks. We were very pleased we did. It's a fab environment and the scenery is stunning with an abundance of wildlife to enjoy. Would highly recommend.

Carsington offers a wide range of activities from walking, bird watching, sailing and general water sports. For those less active there's a good range of shops within the visitor centre and a restaurant/cafe. Lots of trails and hidden pathways to amuse the kids together with a fairly good playground for the toddlers. For the more adventurous, you can walk around... More

Worth a half day visit with the kids (7 & 9). Visitor centre quite well appointed with lots of info about water and sewage treatment which doesn't sound much fun but is actually quite good if a little gross. Long easy walks available and a playground. Watersports apparently but we visited in Feb so didn't go to see what was... More

We were looked after well here when we came in from the cold. Went on two occasions and the cakes and coffee were lovely and served by great staff. Other food that we saw looked lovely.

Hi, Thanks for your wonderful review of the cafe at Carsington Water. There's nothing quite like a hot cup of coffee to warm up and a cake just seals the deal. Had worse walks and had better. And average place to get! Good place for a pic nic. For anyone wishing to swim I wouldn't recommend that!

Hi, thanks for your review of Carsington Water. Swimming is not permitted here, as it is a working site meaning there can be deep mud and dangerous currents below the surface, making it risky even for strong swimmers. The water is also very deep, meaning that it's cold even in warmer weather. There are many water sports available including row-boat... More
