Visited on 15th April 2017. The place is quite picturesque and you can spend couple of hours there just enjoying the scenic beauty. Good place to walk around and hang out.The dam's design is unusual in having two totally enclosed bellmouth overflows and though we did not see it in full swing, I'm sure must be delight to watch when... seeing where the bouncing bomb pilots trained and able to show the grand children, great. more nostalgia for me than them as it was a very wet day (Bank Holiday Monday so what do you expect). short walk along the side of the lake between showers and to keep the dog happy and an ice cream. not the best day... We parked at the visitor centre to walk around the reservoir. The full circuit is just under 6 miles. It's easy walking on good paths and you can't get lost! The path is a mix of rough track and proper road but is mostly flat or slightly undulating (a rarity in the Peak District). The views are really lovely. The... More

What a beautiful walk on an Easter weekend, we weren't really prepared so didn't walk the whole way round but we will definitely be back. The hot chocolates at the little cafe are amazing too much, needed on a cold day!

We had a great day out on the trails around Ladybower reservoir. A few steep bits but overall not too challenging. Saw people of all ages around. Be prepared for the elements.

A great way to spend time with family and friends. A paradise for people who love to walk. Make sure you wear comfortable footwear. The view from the top is simply amazing. The main attraction includes the Reservoiur, plug hole and the inn. Must visit place in Derbyshire.

We wanted to visit Ladybower Reservoir as my son has son enjoyed learning about it in year 6 geography lessons. There is no visitor centre, just a board and a voice recorded message, but we didn't mind this as had already researched before we set off. Managed to park on the road just further down for free, and enjoyed crossing... More

What a great idea. The walks along the reservoir are really beautiful, but commendation to the managers of the area, for closing the roads beyond Fairholmes visitor centre, for cyclists and walkers. Lovely choice of walks with something for everyone, and very accessible for those less mobile. Highly recommended, but get there early for easy parking.

Lovely trip out with the dog. Beautiful scenery and perfect just as the weather starts to warm up. Only for the fit and able not suitable for people who have difficulties walking. There are a few places to sit down but the paths can be very uneven and pebbled. We will be returning soon for a picnic with all the... More
