A great tour. The guide was very knowledgeable but a little difficult to understand at times. The mine itself is worth a look and we really enjoyed it.

So this is a tour down deep into the mines, at least 300ft down a myriad of steps (500) which you have to come back up after the tour is finished, not ideal for pregnant ladies, very small children and if you suffer with mobility problems this is not for you. I suffer with minor hip and back problems, but... More

We went for a morning tour and there were probably about 10 in the group which was great. Later groups seemed to be larger. Great tour overall and my two kids (8 & 6) loved it. Stairs are very steep but handrails the whole way down and well paved (took 5 years apparently!). You end up about 340 feet under,... More

Great visit, not to large a group, guide (Brian) very informative. Price reflected the tour, adult £12 child £6 good value for money. Out off puff at the end. Not suitable for the elderly with the steps. Would go again.

Family of four £12 each for a half hour tour any other time spent at the cavern is due to waiting 20 mins for the tour to begin then waiting at different points so other groups can come back up the steps .

interesting, educational and a nice way to spend an hour or so - its worth a look if you come for a walk but the weather is really bad. The downside it that its expensive for what it is and the size of the groups were just a bit too large to be a) comfortable in such a space and... More

As long as you don't mind stairs this is a great little visit. Tour guide informative, caves well maintained and really deep, easy to find and right at the foot of a mountain so it's a good place to visit in general. Quite a busy area but groups are taken down in manageable numbers. Kids loved it.

As you go deep in the caves there is plenty to see covering the history of the formation & mining. The Blue John seam is slightly underwhelming. A lot of steps so think before you enter if unable or unwilling to climb!

We tumbled upon Blue John Cavern in our seek of a good hike. Didn't know anything about it. Was very interesting and a positive surprise. Cave was much deeper than expected, guide was both guide and miner, he was a warm young man, and he knew very much about the cave. Tour took half an hour, tops. A very nice... More
