A good walk to get up there but well worth the effort. It looks over the Eden Valley one side & the Dove valley the other....bliss

Lovely views, can get busy but mostly paved with a few good climbs (we started from Castleton to Losehill and round to Mam Tor)

Lovely. Also great to walk up through Winnats pass - safe as good sized verge. We did it with our 11 and 13 year old boys with 3 rucksacks.

Lovely views especially when there's clear skies 😄 can be busy so best to avoid peak times, but never too busy to enjoy a stroll on the ridge. There are a few good footpaths off the ridge well worth a try!

We visited the peak district during the Easter bank holiday '17. We hiked up Mam Tor from the car park and were struck with amazing views from the top. It was beautiful but extremely windy. The walked a small part of the ridge and came back through woodlands at the base of the ridge. It's definitely worth visiting when you're... More

Great hike, our kids are 10 and 13. Some fantastic views from the top of Mam Tor and you might have the added attraction of watching paragliders launching from just below the summit. Well worth it, but make sure you have the right gear for changing weather and proper footwear.

Great mid-level adventure for all walkers. It might take longer for some to climb...but the views are breathtaking. And watch out for traffic during the busy season. We didn't have too many people on our day which was nice so that we could be alone with nature! The wind does get a bit strong, as well. Wear a scarf...

Fantastic views, easy walk when you get up the top, getting up is not so easy. Good clear path so you can't get lost. Lots of options to make it longer if you wish. Quite windy at the top!
