They do a lot to encourage a great array of birds and they provide good facilities to watch them. They have bird identification charts, provide binoculars to watch them and there is always plenty of food for the feathered visitors. There are good walks with some leading to the the cliff top above the white horse carved into the face.... More

We drove to this site via Sutton Bank (very steep hill) and parked up in the free parking at site. We walked up the 151 steps to the top of the structure, which was great views along the countryside, but not good enought to get a good view of the Horse structure. We drove down to the valley and took... More

We drove up the Sutton Bank to visit the White Horse of Kilburn, there is a parking lot at this site, which is free. There are 151 steps to climb up to top of the hill, but you can't see the effect of the horse carving. We could see over the valley and it was lovely clear day. There were... More

Paid £4.50 for parking and was disappointed at the lack of signs to see the white horse, in fact the signs that were there were incorrect. The start of the walk stated that it was a 1 mile and it was more and didn't indicate that we had to come off the Cleveland Way. When we returned to the Centre... More

Just climbing to the top and the heavens opened and we got drenched. A little bit disappointing, but will try again on a better day!

We parked at Sutton bank visitor centre and took the walk as recommended. It's about 1 and a half miles of first flat paths enjoying the fantastic views - but then drops down through forest onto uneven slightly muddy steps. The path is quite precarious and then climbs back up a steep slope to view the actual white horse. Not... More

Been many times here, short time to walk to the top (151 steps) of the horse , great view and down again. Or long walk including to Sutton bank and back. Free to park here £4:50 to park at Sutton bank. On a nice day you can see the gliders taking off and landing. If you are cycling very challenging... More

We visited Kilburn and stayed at the Forresters Arms in the village. We did the short walk setting off from the visitor centre. The walk is relatively easy though there is one reasonably steep climb but it is well worth it as the views are spectacular. There is a cafe and toilet facilities at the visitor centre and ample parking... More

This is a local landmark, visible for miles from across the Vale of York. It is cut into the turf on the hillside and regularly maintained.

Parking at Sutton Bank was a good starting point for a 3 mile walk round the White Horse. Best view in Yorkshire is also very close and worth seeing. We followed this be driving down to Killburn for a drink in the pub and a visit to the church which is furnished by Robert Thompson the Mouse Man. There is... More
