This little known lagoon is worth a visit for birdlife and wonderful lilies. I am afraid the heat and humidity got to me so we only stayed an hour.

A short drive from Cooktown along highway. The lagoon is a great place for short walk to view and learn more about birdlife. Nice location with picnic tables and good parking.

Beautiful scene with lilies on the lagoon and plenty of birds. However spray well for mosquitoes as they were big and plentiful when we visited.

Well done walkways and bird lookout; not much buird activity when we walked (11AM beginning of April) but trails well done. It is a quick hike from the car park, worth a short detour to see the lagoon. 15-20 minutes; longer if you will sit...More
