This area is well hidden. We found these falls by default while driving to Mt Amos. Beautiful swimming hole at the base of the falls.

It's pretty hard to get to you Will need a 4 wheel drive but it is worth the trip. The falls you can swim in and the temperature was great even in the middle of winter, follow the pink ribbons and you'll be fine

Absolutely amazing. There were no signs to show the name or distance along the way here. Just a sign pointing to falls. Drive from sign is only 2klm park and walk down rocky footpath just 50m. Roaring falls and so picturesque!

All the times we have been to Cooktown, we have passed by this beauty. A lovely drive and a short 300 metre walk is rewarded with this amazing creation and a lovely cool swimming hole. Check it out!

The water was cool and refreshing. It was a little tricky to get to but standing under the waterfall made it all worth it.

Not simple to find as Google Earth has it in the wrong place... Take Mt Amos Rd off the Mulligan Highway; after ~9 km you will come to a right turn with a primitive sign on a tree. Right again after a short distance and...More

Not so easy to get to. A dirt road drive which is probably not accessible in the wet and once you get there it's a bit of a tricky walk in up over a high, narrow dirt track, but it is definitely worth the trouble...More
