Fairbairn Dam is a must see when visiting the area. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the views or take a refreshing swim. If you’re a boating enthusiast the dam offers lots of enjoyment from water sports to fishing! Of and did you know that...More

It is well worth the dive to the dam if you have a few hours to spare. The views form the lookout are great and the walk across the dam is interesting.

Top spot for a quiet day out. If you are in the area. Peaceful. September was great during the day. It got cooler at night. Good for sitting around a fire with a glass of red. Top spot.

The highlight (if you don't have a boat/kayak etc) is the drive across the dam wall - pretty special. If you are after some red claw the place is full of them.

This is a very clean, beautiful water way. Lots of Redclaw to catch, and a good clean area for swimming. Very easy to launch boat into the Dam. Lots of parking, and a lovely area for a barbecue or picnic.

This is a definite while in the Emerald area whether it be a day visit or whether one stays at the caravan park out there. Make the time!

An easy place to get to from both highways (south and west), with a continuous drive, and a number of places to stop to take in the magnificent scenery, the water and the dam construction.

As many as you can catch within the trap limit. Just check with a local as I don't eat them, but I thought it was 10 traps.
