Small indoor place in Kuranda Village that has over 2000 different kinds of butterflies, and the species list continues to grow. You can walk throughout the building and see them all as they float around freely. It can be difficult to take pictures of them as they fly, but if you stand still long enough, one might land on you... More

Although it states that a guided tour is included in the entrance fee this was not provided and I was unable to see anyone in the sanctuary to ask questions. The butterflies are beautiful but it only takes about 20 minutes to walk round so very expensive for what it is.

The area was well laid out with a mass of other butterflies. They have a laboratory which shows all stages and they let butterflies... More

Really fun place to go and something different to experience. Kids can learn about butterflies from reading the signs along the walk ways then you can see the breeding laboratory. Recommend this if you are near Kuranda.

Loved the butterflies in the sanctuary. They are very well taken care of. The breeding program of the various butterflies if also pretty good. Well worth the visit if one is going to Kuranda.

We had a free personal guided tour which was very informative. We then spent an hour or two just wandering. It is a lovely place to visit with lots of beautiful butterflies, although not the most spectacular signature blue one, the Ulyses, which unfortunately did not reproduce last year, it was thought because of the unseasonably hot, dry weather. For... More
