This was not on our radar but saw the sign and stopped at the Tully information center to see about booking. It was about 10:30 in the morning and they told us the next tour was at 1:00 which was too late as we still had a ways to go to our next accommodation. The ladies at the info center... More

My little Grandaughter's name is Tully, so when passing through the town Tully in the north of Queensland we visited the sugar mill. What an amazing experience. Our tour guide has been a sugar cane farmer all her life and we had the pleasure of sharing the tour with 2 sugar cane farmers who wanted to see what happened to... More

We wanted a local experience and we got it..... The 2 hour tour was informative and an awesome experience where we were able to walk through a working sugar mill. Remember to bring closed shoes and covered shirt to enter the mill. Note the only other working sugar mill that allows tours is 6 hours away so this is your... More

Sara was the name of our guide. Sara is a sugar cane farmer. Her knowledge was amazing and her tour was a highlight for us. This is a working mill and our tour showed us from the cane in the railway carts to the final sugar. Amazing!

This was an excellent tour.if you are interested to see how sugar is transformed from the cane to raw sugar. This is a rare opportunity to tour a working mill. Particularly in view of today's health and safety overkill . Ross the tour guide gave a Great overview from both the growers and company viewpoint. The tour commentary was great... More

We booked this tour which was a 3 hour drive from us. On the previous day we explained the distance we were traveling and asked them to call us if any problems. After a 3 hour drive we turned up, only to be told "sorry, we are not doing the tour today!" I explained that we had phoned yesterday and... More

Visiting Tully in northern Queensland call first at the well stocked and friendly staffed information centre. Purchase a ticket for one the three times daily tours of the huge nearby sugar mill. Built in 1924 this enormous edifice takes in 3 million tonnes of sugar cane annually in the June to December period - and crushes, boils and reduces the... More
