A little out of the German Town of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, is the artist Hans Heysen's home and art studio. The historic house has been preserved with original rooms and his beautiful artwork. The stone studio is a little distance from his house and is very special with its high ceilings and large magnificent artworks and the cabinets... More

You really must take the tour , it was so interesting looking around what amounted to a time warp , how it was back then , with a knowledgeable guide taking the group through each room in turn.

A wonderful look into the art world! Beautiful house, lovingly looked after and kept with many items from the wonderful painter Heysen. Also, his daughter has a collection within the house as well.

We visited The Cedars in August and would recommend this as a must do for anyone even remotely interested in art. A fascinating display in such historic settings.

This is the home, studio and garden of Australian artist Hans Heysen. Enjoyed the guided tour - our guide "Paula" was so lovely and had so many interesting stories to tell as we walked through the house and looked at Hans Heysen's artwork. There is a Shop to purchase prints of his paintings, cards, and bookmarks etc.
