This is a great place to learn about the famous painter 'Heysen'. I easily spent 1 and a hours just wandering around looking at his studio, the gardens and the gum trees. It was magic.

The house was very nicely arranges and still seems so alive. Every wall, every room was a live studio, The kitchen, the garden was very immensely decorated. So artistic. Every corner of the house was something everyone can fall for. Must visit place.

It was fascinating to see the estate of Hans Heysen. The tour of the family home and the two artist studios was interesting as they've been left just as they were when Hans lived and worked there. The tour guide was knowledgeable and informative.

We visited the Cedars twice with visitors from overseas last year and I was surprised at the other art that Hans Heysen created. The tour of the house and the gardens was a delight. Well worth a stop if you are in the Hahndorf area.

The studio displays nice art work. Guided tour is recommended. However, we visited with 2 year old child and therefore could not attend the tour. We had to stay outside the studio. Garden around the house is well maintained and beautiful.

It's quite a walk but a short taxi drive.. I'd suggest taking a taxi as it won't be too expensive and shame to miss it. The Handorf tourist office is on the main street too and they should be able to help you with a taxi.

Hi, There are 2 tours I think. One just to the studio, maybe need 30 minutes. I assume they still do a tour of the home, probably need 1.5 hrs. But it would be flexible.
