I have visited multiple times. I like to bring visitors here because it is a national treasure for cartoons. Come here to see the history of comics, funny papers, editorial commentary. Multiple galleries and a library; comfortable and spacious. Located on the Oval, near the Ohio State University Union. One can spend one hour or more, as schedule permits. A must-see... More

Great place to visit when you are on The Ohio State University campus. We're both grads and remember the days when there were cartoon collections that weren't open to the public. Now this museum offers unsurpassed views of both the work of recent cartoonists and the history of the museum. Excellent and free!

The museum is in Sullivant Hall of The Ohio State University. I went on a Saturday during the Parents and Family weekend (my son attends OSU). I’ve been here a couple of times. It’s a real enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours. It’s a small place but they make the most of the room they have. The current... More

Two rooms and a hallway comprise this museum of mirth and politics. You know, cartoons are either political or funny. The museum has permanent exhibits and ones that change throughout the year. Depending on your level of interest, you can spend as much time as you want or spend about 20-30 minutes. Either way, you will be pleased that you... More

We stopped here while driving through Columbus. We expected to see a few things, but the collection was really impressive. They also have a couple of galleries that are changed out a few times a year. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed reading the comics displayed, some were even back from 1906. Very easy access after parking the SOuth Union Garage, but only took us about 40 min, so make sure you have something else to do in the area.

Beautiful building on the OSU campus. They are dedicated to preserving the history of cartooning. Great exhibits and it's free.

I should say up front that I'm a comics reader and scholar, and I have visited comics museums in Europe and the US. The Billy Ireland is a great place to learn about comics and see great talks by comics creators. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly.

I'm a big fan of old comic strips and comic books. This is a great collection featuring some very old political cartoons and comic strips dating back to the 1800's

My coworker and I took an uber from downtown where we are attending a conference to go to this museum after a friend mentioned that Bill Watterson had donated much of his original art for Calvin and Hobbes to the museum. What a delight! Watterson's originals alone would have made the short trip worthwhile, but this small museum is filled... More
