The all-purpose trail is very well-maintained and there are a few challenging hills to climb from one end to the next, whether walking, jogging or biking. I refer to this as my "quick-hitter", as it is easily accessible and takes less than an hour to bike the 11 miles. Thank you LCMP for sharing this property.

The Lorain Metro Parks do it right. This is a wonderful area for it's color in the fall. The park and it's trails are natural but well maintained. It is you and nature. The trails are good for walking or riding and go for miles to the north into Lorain. Great place to spend a day in the outdoors.

This is a very nicely maintained park with an excellent paved bike/jogging trail. You will find yourself in the sun about 70% of the time so plan on water and sunblock. The waterfall, cliffs and the river itself are all fairly scenic but access is limited. This seems to be the case with the majority of the Metroparks. I feel... More

We are just about 10 minutes from this park and started walking it again yesterday. It's blacktopped so easy to walk on and the length is just about right for us to go back and forth once.We plan on going back daily when the weather holds up. Not completely flat so the few hills helped us get a good workout.

Our family likes to head here to enjoy the bike trail. The part we bike is mainly shaded and flat, although there are hills if you want to go further.

Great all around nice park. I have a long history with the park. Used to hang out here as a teenager- now I have teenagers! A wide variety of scenery due to the location along the river. Really nice sledding in the winter, nice picnic areas and playgrounds, flat areas along the river to just relax, cliffs running along side... More

The entire trail is wide and paved, surrounded by the forest with excellent and breathtaking views of the Black River. The grade is mostly flat with some minor inclines/declines. Great place to walk dogs as well. There are restrooms and a water fountain at the 1.5 mile mark, (when leaving from the Elyria entrance).

We bought an inflatable kayak and took it out for the first time on the river. There is a kayak launch point, which is really just a short paved path to the river, but it was a nice relaxing time floating around. The water seemed very clean and the trails through the park were nice as well.
