Certainly the place in town where everyone goes shopping – and where you find everything. I especially loved the small roads going there with small markets along the streets. The fresh fish looked very delicious!

Happening place...night life, flea market, street food and the main hub of Shillong City. Worth visiting it in evening to get a hand of the local culture and fashionable people!

Crowded, colorful, lively, noisy and full of energy. Must stroll around the Police Bazaar to see it all. The locals will charm you. Have a cup of tea in Delhi Mishtaan Bhandar, a popular local joint serving tea, samosa, and other delni/bengali fun-foods. Lots of locals crowd around here and enjoy a cuppa here. They also take paytm :)

The overcrowded flea market is the heart of the city. I enjoyed the lazy walk n exploring the mkt in evening with cool breeze.

This is the main Bazaar for the locals and you can enjoy by shopping here. Enjoy the food here is so good as all types of local foods are available here. Almost all the hotels are available here. Traffic is good here .

Though the location of Police bazar is great (at the heart of Shillong), the place is too crowded. People literally seems to be pushing you and running in the evening. It's not a clean place. The prices of the products are also hiked. You need to bargain a lot!You can get the same stuff in nearby city (Guwahati)at a cheaper... More

It's overcrowded. It's dirty. It's the site of an overpriced flea market. But it still is the heart for tourist activities seeing as all the tour operators and good eateries are located here.

Most hill stations in India have a version of what is popularly called 'Mall road' - this is Shillong's. All such Mall Roads suffer the same pit falls - overcrowded teeming with cacaphonous tourists, scamsters and racketeers. Shopping at such places is inevitably expensive and a lot of the wares sold in the name of 'local products' are made elsewhere... More
