To have darshan of lord Jagannath is usually the main reason for the Puri visit..If it is your first visit then it is advisable to take the services of a panda (priest) before. Holy place with lots of stories, construction going on so yoy have worship god from a distance, prasad kitchen , flag changing are worth watching, careful from pandas.

The idol was far from visible becoz of the ongoing construction. The priests there r commercialized to the extent that they will not give you Aarti unless you pay them

The temple is beautiful. Your car cannot drop you till the temple gates and you would have to keep it at a distance and either walk or take the special bus facility to the temple for Rs. 10 or shared rickshaws. Leather items, mobiles and cameras are not allowed inside so avoid carrying them though they can be stored outside.... More

Like other hindu religious places, greedy vultures are roaming around you. the biggest downfall of hindu's. Keep our mobile and shoes in the free government shops around temple.
