We (couple, almost 50) spend a half day with Green Dog sleddging up Bolterdalen in very cold and partially very snowy conditions; all the time we felt well looked after by friendly staff, who had prepared us well and also partially equipped us. (You had to dress warmly in the first place, but do make use of their gloves etc.)... More

If you would like to drive a dogsled this is a greate adventure. You learn how to attach and unattach the dogs. Of course this is a course safe for tourists, no exploration, just driving the sledge, but it is enough. What we missed was information what to do if the driver fell of the sledge. How could you stop... More

We were totally 16 persons and 2 guides manouvering 9 sledges and 54 dogs. Pick up at hotel in minivan, and after some kilometres shifting to Jeep for another couple of minuits, 8 persons/car. Dress warmly. You get boots, overall, gloves etc skiglasses if needed and headlamp. All to take over your own dress to avoid dirt, dog smell, and... More

Green Dog took us for a fantastic introductory hike in to Bolterdal. It was a great way to get ourselves familiarized with the scenery surrounding Longyearbyen that we would explore and get to love into the next few days. The hike was fairly gentle, although it was a bit more rigorous than originally expected (especially for older folks). Be ready... More

We had a four hour dog sled trip with Green Dog. The guides were really friendly and it was great being able to help them to harness the dogs and attach them to the sleds. The actual 'mushing' bit was far harder than I thought. There are two main rules for dog sledding: 1) Don't let go and 2) Don't... More

The tour on the dog sled was amazing getting the full experience of harnessing the dogs and driving the sled.... the guide was very informative and very excited about showing me the dogs and the area where the tour took me... thru the valley and the northern lights was a bonus.... but wish we could have stopped a little more... I did this trip, and I thought it was great. But now (6 days later) I took a similar trip with another company in town - Husky Travellers - and it is just much better. The guides are in comparison average, the dogs are not taken care of in the same way, and the sledges are not as cool. Overall... More

Really enjoyed this trip. Once in a lifetime. Sledding through the snow capped valley and mountains. Beautiful scenery. Only minor point is it would be nice to stop on the trail and take some photos of the dogs but we were able to do this back at the compound Brilliant to be introduced to the puppies awaiting training. Excellent trip... More

Wanted to try a green experience when we visit this vulnerable part of the world! We choose to go dog sledding, which we didn't regret! The dogs gave us an amazing experience! We was taken care of by a very skilled, and friendly staff! This was a nice experience, because you understood at once you arrived at the camp, that... More

That was one of the most amazing activity I did! The 7-hour tour to dog slegging and visit the ice cave! Awesome guides (Peter and Mark), clearly explained everything and they really care about the group and the dogs! Needed equipment (gloves, socks, shoes) available.
