If one picture on a postcard could sum up an idyllic English Seaside destination it would have to be Southwold Pier. Decked out across the sea in the picturesque coastal town of Southwold, this pillared walkway has a magnetic attraction and something for everyone to enjoy! There's so much to do a whole day can drift by while you walk the planks and explore this historic icon. Please note: Our opening times are weather permitting and therefore can change.

When you hear and read great reviews of a place you arrive there with anticipation. The pier itself is narrow and crowded. It is a fire hazard. Dogs are not allowed on the beach at all. The car parking machines do not give change. So...More

The pier is lovely. Not tacky at all. A small amusements suitable for all. Two quaint pier shops with reasonably priced gifts to buy. Cafes were popular as they served great teas, cakes and coffees at reasonable prices. Awesome view. Pier suitable for everyone!

We arrived at Southwold with a lovely sunny sky. Even though we didn't take children with us this was an ideal place to enjoy your time with the kiddies. A beautiful resort which caters for a day on the beach. Southwold is a clean and...More

Just returned from an excellent week in Southwold. Lovely old style seaside resort. Beautiful Regency architecture, lovely beach walks and excellent dining options plus Adnams. What's not to like. Thoroughly recommend for an old-style beach holiday. Great for dogs too

A great place to bring the family with coin amusements, eatery`s and a few gift shops on the pier. A woking water clock about halfway. With plenty of places to have a sit and a tea, coffee or even a cream tea if you so...More

Soutwold pier is an attractive, well designed and fascinating place. It is free to enter and dog-friendly with very good eating and drinking facilities. It has a wonderfully mad 'under the pier' arcade. The water clock, designed by the same inventor as the show is...More

The entry to the pier is what you see on every pier; gaming machines, ice cream, cheap souvenirs. But when you step out onto the pier it's really very pleasant and you get a lovely view back of the sea front with all the colourful...More

Interesting and different pier - The Under The Pier Show is not to be missed - fascinating collection of homemade arcade games. Dogs welcome. Great George Orwell mural.

Hi Kevin Apologies for the late response. All plaques that are placed on the pier stay up indefinitely so it will certainly still be there. We look forward to seeing you on your trip this Summer. Kind regards Peter
