It was better than expected, but nowhere near as good as Firle in Sussex. Many of the stalls were irrelevant to a flower show, but nonetheless it was very busy. Not really one for a true gardener. Nice for a trip out and a greasy burger.

The house is beautiful and fully restored. It is not fully furnished as it has to earn its keep as an events venue. To see when it is open to the public you need to visit the website. However there are two sets of dates...More

Hylands House ought to be ashamed of themselves for allowing this to be called a National Flower Show. This is in no way a flower show, may as well go to B&Q for free.

Second year attending this event and they could not pick a better venue than Hylands House. Beautifully restored with extensive grounds. Everything about the Flower Show was well organised and a lovely few hours were spent looking around the house and the Flower Show. We...More

My friend Madge led an excellent tour around Hylands Park and House. The gardens are spectacular and the extensive grounds including the Serpentine Lake are great for walking around. Excellent cafe in the stables block and lots of very reasonably priced plants for sale in...More

Yes, over 550 acres, with formal gardens. check out Chelmsford City Council's website and do a search on Hylands Park as Tripadvisor won't accept links

Can you cycle in the grounds of Hylands Park? Our child likes to cycle away from the main road.
