Established on the current Clacton site in 1899, and run independently by the West Cliff Trust, the West Cliff is the only surviving purpose-built theatre in Clacton, and plays host to professional touring shows and many local amateur dramatic and operatic groups, dance schools, and other youth groups.

Its compact auditorium with just under 600 seats, a unique atmosphere and knowledgeable and friendly staff make it Clacton's theatre of choice for artistes and audiences alike.

The Stage Door Bar is open both prior to and during the interval for each show, and provides pre-booked meals for selected shows. The lounge may be hired for private functions with or without bar and catering services.

Been here many times mostly for Am Dram, but also saw Rob Beckett here recently, amazing. A good old fashioned theatre run by local people, it has it all.

Went to see Barbara Dickson what a wonderful night she was wonderful as always. The Theatre was small but very comfortable and we really enjoyed our evening cannot wait to see who else will visit Clacton-On-Sea.

Nathan Carter was wonderful as was the whole experience in this lovely theatre. The staff were attentive and helpful from the moment we arrived until we went home. Nothing was too much trouble and the man on the doors who greeted and welcomed us was so pleasant and helpful. The packed audience seemed like us to enjoy every minute of... More

We went to see a 60s night here at the West Cliff Theatre in January 2017 and being of the era we thoroughly enjoyed the night . A theatre like this would not have lasted this long if they didn't know what they were doing , but they certainly do . It was £28 per person for the night which... More

The West Cliff Theatre is real Theatre. Run by Volunteers it puts on great shows and is a real peoples theatre. The volunteer staff are welcoming and helpful. There is a nicely sized bar area and a shop. Highly recomended

My last visit to the Theatre was to see the Osmonds Christmas special. Considering it's a small community theatre the acts they attract are amazing. The staff are very helpful and friendly and ticket prices are reasonable. There is a small car park but usually ample parking on the sea front.

Went not long before Christmas. Nice interior and seats OK too. There's a nice, if a little small foyer area and a small bar area too. They have a small car park and there is some on street parking available near the theatre.
