The member of staff who was working on the afternoon we visited was very helpful in fulling us in on the history of the place. It is a great place to spend a good couple of hours and interactive activities to keep the young (and not so young) amused. Exhibits were clearly marked and explained. As I hadn't long had... More

Amongst the assets boasted by Priory Park is Prittlewell Priory. It is steeped in history which can be discovered through both beautiful and informative displays. Upstairs is most certainly worth a look too as the hall there is enhanced by voice/image displays creating a magical place for the imaginations of both young and old alike. Well worth a visit. I lived in Southend in my youth but left nearly 50 years ago and I remember Priory Park well, but I have no memory of this place at all, so it was very interesting to see it. It has been beautifully restored and there is a lot to keep you interested for as long as you wish to stay. A... More

Beautiful building, fascinating history well presented - lots to see, great atmosphere, interested staff, some hands on activities for children, and beautiful gardens. Little on site café not always open though, which is a shame.

We went to the Priory on the morning before we were returning there for a wedding later in the day. What a lovely house with amazing features! The gardens were lovely also. As a wedding venue it was also lovely, with the photographer having plenty of areas to use for taking pictures. Overall, a very enjoyable visit.

It is free easy to park in the park and just a short walk from the Priory. The friendly staff great you at the entrance and point you in the right direction. There is interesting items to look at on two levels. The building itself is interesting and has been well maintained. I recommend sitting for a few minutes to... More
