We have been lucky enough to go to the water gardens on a couple of occassions. It is truly stunning. If you are lucky enough to be in the area when the gardens are open, i suggest you take some time out and wander around. you'll come out a more peaceful person. There are no shops, no rides, nothing to... More

Kids aged 8 to 4 loved exploring the gardens and the photographer in me enjoyed the beautifully kept scenery. Well worth a visit if you are in the area

Part of the Leckford Estate (Mr Waitrose), across the road from the main house and hidden behind high hedges and open infrequently, but get your timing correct and you will not be disappointed

Open April to October on the first and 3rd Sunday of the month - 1500-1700 adults £6 & children £2 - no concessions of OAP's. Probably can walk around it in less than an hour but benches dotted about for quiet contemplation. Paths would be muddy/slippery if we have had a lot of rain. Parking in the field opposite is... Built along one of the tributaries of the River Test Valley these water gardens are magnificent. The many small islands are linked by flat wooden bridges. The planting is outstanding. It is the combination of textures and colours over the water that makes this place so special. The only downside is that it is open only on the 1st and... More

The Gardens are primarily open only John Lewis Partners but on the third Sunday of each month, they are open to the public. Well worth a visit, the gardens were created by John Spedan Lewis (the founder of John Lewis) and are located in the Leckford Estate (which is also home to Waitrose own farm). The gardens are peaceful and... More

Very beautiful place , however we arrived in a downpour which did take the edge off the experience . Having said that the gardens are lovely and well worth a visit if you are in the area.

We visited on a charity day so the gardens were quite busy, but they were absolutely gorgeous and must be incredibly tranquil if you can visit on a quieter day. Not as big as I was expecting, but lovely for an hour's wander, and a photographer's paradise. Well worth the visit if you're in the area when they're open, although... More

We are lucky enough to be in the JLP, so gained entry that way. Incredible place, just beautiful. If you can get in, do. Don't look at photos or details before you go. Go in without knowing anything, you will not be disappointed.
