Such a great place. Everyone has different tastes but here is why I like it. 1) Lots of good, (but expensive) camp sites . BTW, open fire are not allowed, rangers come and tell you to put them out. 2) Its quite flat so great for cycling through the forest paths with young kids. 3) There are lots of good... More

We visited the New Forest Centre whilst in Lyndhurst and what a great find. The entrance is free and the displays are very informative covering all aspects of The New Forest. Well worth a visit when in Lyndhurst and we will be definitely returning to view the parts we missed on our last visit.

We live on the edge of the New Firest in a lovely village called a Hythe that is beside Southampton Water ( and has a weekly Tuesday market, a pier and pier train and ferry across to Southampton) We regularly walk in the forest as a couple, with the young grand daughters or Nordic walking ( from Applemore leisure centre,... The New Forest is just wonderful. Although a little wet after the March rains, we still had a blast on the bike routes and has fun spotting the wild horses and ponies everywhere.

We often weekend away in the forest, lovely to see the ponies and have a nice steady drive around the lovely scenery, mind the ponies in the road while you drive though!

What is there to be said about The New Forest that hasn't already been said? It's a beautiful open space where you can walk for hours, coming across wild ponies at regular intervals. Don't be surprised to see the odd cow or pig either. Perfect place to fill your lungs with fresh air and get some good exercise in beautiful... More

Spent my birthday there camping for a couple of days and thoroughly loved it. I have visited before and wanted to go back, glad I did. There are some lovely places to eat, be careful of the prices. Amazing off road cycle routes and hiring a bike is very easy, especially if you are staying at one of the campsites... More

Stayed near the New Forest so we could go cycling. Had great fun as the cycle maps are fairly easy to follow, the cycle tracks are good to ride on and it's lovely to see the ponies and deer as you are cycling along.
