There is no attempt for this Development to fit into the Landscape and it glaringly does not. Several Units have not yet opened for the Season and the Chair Lift, which is a "Must" was not operational. However, since my last visit, a viewing Platform has been erected and it is possible, weather permitting, to view & photograph The Needles... More

As a child i remember visiting the island, i never did the sand filling thing as we could not afford it, when i took my own children, i still could not afford it but this year as a pensioner i was at last able to buy some for my great grandchildren and i enjoyed watching the process.

Enjoyed the brisk walk and wonderful views. Off peak visit means that most of the young children's rides were closed but we made do with the sand shop, glass blower demonstration and sweet shop. Be mindful of the steep stairs down to Alum bay

Wasn't disappointed and worth the walk. We went when most things were closed, so difficult to rate. The old battery was shut. The open top bus wasn't running but I bet it would be a good trip and a great way of seeing the views. The cafe was good and we all had a pasty after our walk to the... More

Either take the bus, car, walk or cycle - but if cycling then be realistic about your fitness - this is challenging for day trippers. On a clear, windy day, the atmosphere on top of The Needles is fabulous. The air comes in from the Atlantic where it's 4,000 miles non-stop to South America - that is very clean air.

I went on the coldest day of the year and had a great time, the chairlift wasn't open, I wouldn't have gone on it anyway as heights isn't one of my strong points.... View was terrific I took great photos will go again. Staff very professional. 5 stars

The ride down to the beach at Alum Bay is very pleasant with fabulous views of the Needles. This is a lot easier than using the steps and worth the money. The queue for the chairlift can get very long so get there early. Once on the pebble beach the multicoloured cliffs are amazing to look at. There is a... More

An immediately recognisable landmark and a breathtaking walk to view them well worth the time to walk to them. You will only see them of course from the cliffs or the battery or by boat from the beach.
