Take a look behind the scenes at Shepherd Neame – Britain’s oldest brewer. You guide will take you through the heart of the brewery so you can see the traditional mash tuns; taste natural mineral water from the brewery’s well; try some malted barley; smell locally-grown Kentish hops; see bygone delivery vehicles and step into a recreated cooper’s workshop. Finally there’s a fascinating tutored tasting of Shepherd Neame’s Kentish ales and speciality lagers. Tours run most days - advance booking is strongly recommended and you should allow 2 hours for your visit

Having visited a number of breweries during my lifetime in the pub game, this was one I had not previously visited. First tip when visiting is to allow yourself 3 hours in one of the local car parks if you don't wish to rush your visit - there is no parking on site but car parks are close by. A... More

The brewery tour was very interesting and provided a real insight to the brewing process. The meal afterwards was very good. Overall an excellent evening and good value for money

A most interesting and informative tour. The guide was both knowledgeable and entertaining. My only criticism would be that it was such a shame that the room displaying all the old inn-signs was poorly lit. As a painter of inn-signs myself, I should have liked to have seen them more clearly. However, I hasted to add that this did not... More

My long term mate and I had a great day visiting Faversham and learning more about our favourite brewer. Look out for the Shepherd Neame Visitor centre because it is not the biggest frontage for such a big brewery. Once inside a very pleasant lady introduced herself as are guide for the tour. The tour was about one and a... More

We went to the Shepherd Neame visitor centre and brewery tour after receiving a voucher for Christmas. The tour was amazingly well put together and the enthusiasm of our guide was second to none, she was brilliant. It's great to see the oldest brewery operating and the old combined with the new. To top it off at the end the... More

Very good tour spoilt by 3 noisy and annoying women who continually talked and laughed throughout the tour and had no interest whatsoever in the information given by our Gide. It's a pity he did not take them to task regarding their behaviour. I feel a lot of information was missed by their annoyance.

Thank you for such an informative visit. This was a gift from our daughter and was a wonderful experience. The group, all strangers, became friends for the afternoon especially when we sat down to the beer tasting at the end! The guide was really interesting and made us think beyond choosing the first beer off the shelf. My husband even... More
