I wasn’t sure what to expect from here after hearing mixed reviews from friends but was pleasantly surprised. All four exhibitions showing at the moment are different from each other and are captivating in their own ways. The location helps as the light flows through...More

This is a very modern looking building on the sea front which is unfortunately out of character with the surrounding buildings; however despite this hopefully it can be a catalyst for the much needed regeneration of the town. When we visited the temporary exhibition on...More

Unlike many other reviewers I like the exterior of the Turner Contemporary a lot, mind you I visited on a glorious sunny day and the stark white of the building against the blue sky was very lovely. I first stopped in the very reasonably priced...More

the cafe and the staff are very pleasant. however everything else was very poor, there is no permanent exhibits so if you go between exhibitions there is virtually nothing to see, the name perpetrates a deception as there is zero by Turner. all expect at...More

Another enormous concrete carbuncle to blight the seafront. Inside you will find 'Art' and 'art installation' that could just as easily have been created by a lobotomised chimp. Don't worry the 'work' is explained for those who can't see the Emperor's new clothes. The explanations...More

Exceedingly ugly building resembling a warehouse, no proper parking just a few disabled spaces. Disabled access from this area very poor - a flight of about 15 steps up to the main entrance - if there was a disabled access or ramp we certainly didn't...More

I like the Turner but it was a change over for exhibitions and a lot was closed. I used the cafe and sat in the sun and it is always good to see the Gormley statue in the sea. Staff are very helpful and friendly...More
