We have had a couple of lovely family days out here. Rides on trains are not very long but plenty of opportunities for more thqn one ride. You can also walk back from end stop. Lots of room for a picnic. A cafe is available for hot drinks homemade cakes and snacks. You can visit engine shed and get close... More

I went on the gala day Sunday 30th October. Very impressed with the whole place, plenty of trains running, different types including steam and diesel locos. The whole area is relaxing with lovely grass areas and a small woods. You can walk to stations allowing different rides and photo locations. The café was really busy but the staff served everyone... Visited for the final Gala day, Nice place like a farm land with woods plenty of locomotives in shed, farm tractors and etc. .The wonderful cafe smell nice of food is cooked. I would very highly recommend everyone to visit include kids as well. I will visit again in summer 2017 thanks.

Visited on their ' open day ' for grandson's birthday. Very interesting exhibits, everything very well sign- posted and all facilities easy to access. Train ride was a little uneventful and not terribly interesting for young ones since it is not a 'round trip ' but stops for quite a while , while the engine prepares to reverse the train,... More

visited 1st may 2016 with 18 cubs and scouts. hiked there from nearby campsite. site is lovely and staff where helpful and friendly before when arranging visit and during visit. cubs and scout loved that they could stand on platform in carriage and lean out. tractor ride was an added bonus. highly recommended and well worth a visit. plenty to... Not sure why we haven't been here before as its only down the road! Had a lovely day your entrance fee includes unlimited train rides, tractor rides and a look around the museum. The train rides can be very busy but never a long wait for the next train. There is a lovely wood with picnic benches to eat lunch... More
