Lovely and well kept gardens. Cafe was loveley too. Nice to get away from the seaside feel to the main town and relax in a peaceful setting.

Stopped here on our way out of Whitstable and enjoyed walking round the beautiful gardens with some unusual plants. Best of all was the afternoon tea served on the terrace. It made for a fabulous end to our Whitstable trip!

We stopped here on our way from East Sussex to Broadstairs and enjoyed hot, strong tea and excellent sandwiches whilst sitting out on the terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens.

Whitstable Castle and grounds is not part of English heritage - I think it is independent.

What is there to do here? Are there formal gardens to walk round? A Kids play area? Picnic area? Entrance fees? a Car Park? The website has info on how much an afternoon tea it, but not a lot else that would be useful to someone that might visit, but does not want to drive for 2 hours and find out it is only a tea room with a fancy name
