Mother shipton is legendary in these parts and any visit to the area is not complete without a visit to her cave/grotto. There was a time when calcified rock was an amazing site but time has moved on and it no longer has that mystical attraction for most tho possibly still very impressive for children to see . It is... I have been visiting here from being a small child and I still find it relaxing and beautiful. Good family day out if you like beautiful natural surroundings and walking.

Too much Mother Shipton, not enough cave. I was very disappointed with the lack of cave here. Do you people not understand the concept of a cave? Noobs. 2/10.

Enjoyed the children's sheet of activities and woods too. Loved it! Great walks and boat ride nearby and good pub for food too!

I've visitied this cave several times in the past; it doesn't really change but they do try to add seasonal events where they can. The walk down to the cave is probably just under a mile, nothing too rigorous but a little uneven, so be aware if you have any mobility problems. The history of Mother Shipton is well-presented when... More

A bit tired, needs tidying up. Went here with family, both young and older children, age range from 5 months to 14 years, more suited to the younger ones, some uneven paths and steps which were slippy in places.

Very Interesting and Informative place to visit for both children and adults. Can be a bit of a walk but well worth it. There is also a lovely walk along the river too with veiws of Knaresbrough.

A magical mystical place to visit. Not been for years and it still draws you in and you find yourself wondering about the history and the story which is well worth learning whilst you are there. The walk through the woodland is picturesque and interesting with little quirky attractions for the children it's lovely and there's an opportunity to call... More
