We visited bugtopia on the bank holiday . It's best to book Online first. Bugtopia is a small place and perfect for small groups. You get to meet and greet lots of creatures including Sally the tarantula. Our guide really knew his stuff and you got lots opportunity to hold bugs and creatures. Great hour spent at bugtopia and great... More

The Kettering site is very small, just a hands-on experience as opposed to the bigger zoo at Rutland Water. Having said that, the actual Meet & Greet is a fantastic experience! Kieran was very knowledgeable, full of interesting facts and figures about the "creepy-crawly" world. The actual handling was very well done, with plenty of time for everybody to have... More

I have been an arachnophobic for all if my life and am now in my sixties, but this place had me feel comfortable enough that I considered holding a tarantula. The talk was really informative. The creatures we met were interesting and great to see and feel close-up and the underlying message of the importance of the insect population was... More

A very reasonably priced experience. The keeper Lee had a vast knowledge & kept us all entertained. No pressure to handle any of the specimens. It's a small set up which I think is being developed. We ate in the Smokehouse. The staff were very helpful & the meals tasty. I was recommended this place to take our 7 &... More

Although this experience handling millipedes, tarantulas, etc) is mainly intended as an educational establishment for school age children, we took our daughter for her 30th birthday, and found it a fascinating experience.

The Bugtopia talk was great. The keeper was very engaging and kept our 10, 8 and six year olds interested with lots of bugs and a spider to hold. Not much else to do there though. They had a couple of rabbits and a barn owl outside, a smokehouse style restaurant which seemed reasonably priced, although despite it being pretty... More

We were little group so we had chance to hold all the little but sometimes scary creatures - tarantula, scorpio and some multipedes. Kieran was great and funny guide through the insect world.

We went as a party of 7 adults and 2 children. We should have booked but got lucky and were able to all go to the bug show and tell in one party. Kids and adults all thoroughly enjoyed the interactive show. New addition of the American style smoke house restaurant gave us the opportunity to further enjoy our visit... More

I came here for the bat night event with my other half, where we had the opportunity to feed fruit bats and see them at night time in full flight! We also got to see several other of the nocturnal creatures there, and got to hold snakes spiders and more too. Would like to visit again in the day time... More
