A little bias here as it is my favourite beach. Always clean and dog friendly Nice car park located down a side road and such amazing views of the castle and out to Holy Island and the Farnes.

Love this beach. Plenty of places to park nearby and the sand is dry and soft but quite firm so easy to walk and for the kids to play on. Lots of walks and the beautiful Northumbrian scenery to take in. Bamburgh castle imposingly situated in the background and lindisfarne and the farne islands surrounding. Its hard to think of... This beach is exceptional. It is several miles long of soft sand backed by sand dunes. The majestic Bamburgh castle is behind it and it is a photographers paradise. It is about a 3 mile walk along it to Seahouses if you fancy a decent stroll. There is parking nearby but the car park is quite small.

Having visited the castle we had to walk around it via the dunes and beach. The wind was blowing a Northerly gale which child to the bone but that did not distract from some really impressive views of the castle from the eastern side. Numerous paths meander through the dunes offering routes back up to the village and castle

Every time I visit Lowick I always stop at this beach. It is amazing. I usually visit this area during the first week in April every year. It's a bit of a trek over the dunes to the beach but well worth it!! The beach is usually breezy but never very busy. It great for a walk along the beach... More

Very unspoilt by tourism. However I'm sure gets lots of visitors in the summer, I've only ever been in April when it might be breezy but a clear crisp day is beautiful. Very enjoyable walk and great for writing in the sand it's so expansive when the sea is out. The sand dunes on the walk to the beach can... More

The sand on this beach is like putting your hands into unbleached flour, its feels so soft and silky. I've never felt sand like it.... and it goes on for miles and miles - at least three. Plus, the tide goes out a long way so there's acres of space. Probably the best I've been to ever.
