Amazing privately run little railway that I have walked past for many years without actually knowing what was going on! Pre-booked tickets for the Great Miniature Weekend, one of the few days where children under 10 were permitted and was amazed at how professional it...More

Before visiting we assumed that Statfold would be a tuppenny ha'penny affair. Oh, how far we wrong. The attraction, which is rarely open to the public, is astonishing. Clearly a huge amount of investment, in the milliions, has been made on this site and its...More

Hidden gem just outside Tamworth. I have lived here for years and never knew about this collection of steam trains and trams. Brilliant loop railway line with lovingly restored steam trains . Static displays and workshops. Not widely advertised and seems to need someone in...More

We had a very interesting visit on one of the adult only days. The only downside is the rather archaic booking system - having to send a written application for an invitation.

I visited Statfold Barn Railway on its open day. This is a privately run narrow gauge railway and I have to say that I had a fantastic day. Tickets are available via their website which you have to apply for. Although there isn't a map...More

No reason why it shouldn't - reasonable to expect number of locos in steam to be in the high teens at any of the three main annual events.
