I booked the spa for my birthday and was VERY disappointed as the jacuzzi was not working all day and the communal areas were freezing cold. I later discovered that the jacuzzi had broken the day before but this was not mentioned on booking in. Given that there as no pool we should have been given the option to cancel or rebook. The package was sold as having afternoon tea which consisted of a few sandwiches and a slice of carrot cake- no scone in sight!! Also, the sandwiches were chicken and ham and I had said on booking that I was vegetarian. I complained all day but the day was spoilt. I was given £30 off my bill which frankly was an insult. Having said that the girls who did the Hamman and massage were lovely and the treatments were good. I would never go back or encourage anyone else to go either as it is simply not good enough.

I went with my husband to try the Mud Rasul which was included in a three hour package. The Spa is inside a Regency House. The facilities there were good but there is not enough to occupy you for three hours. It really suffers from not having a swimming pool or proper refreshment facilities (although there is free water, tea and coffee). The Mud Rasul comprised sitting in a purpose build steam room for two. There was a bowl of grey mud in front of each of us which we had to plaster over ourselves. We then sat in the room for about 20 minutes steaming. We couldn't resist throwing a bit of mud at each other which was fun. After the time was up, you were dowsed with water from an overhead shower. You felt very clean afterwards! The Spa is worth a try if you can get an offer on the Mud Rasul but there are much better spas in the local area.

A small spa hidden in a Regency house. As the the Regency house is on the same grounds as a college, car parking can be limited. Attending mid-week is best. Staff were helpful and welcoming. The spa is very small compare to others we have attended. There is a jacuzzi, sauna room, aroma room, foot spa and a steam room which was out of action on this occasion. We had the mud rasul treatment which was fun but can get very hot. Tip is to have a few cups of water nearby to keep yourself rehydrated. Our visit was a package lasting 3 hours which was sufficient to experience the facilities offered. You make your day longer by booking extra treatments. The downside was, there were no refreshments or light lunch offered. You can help yourself to unlimited tea and coffee.
