The entry lookout has some very spectacular views . However if you really want to be impressed take the 20-30 minute return walk down to the next lookout over the water fall . It is a bit arduous with a lots of steps to traverse but well laid out. It is well worth the effort

I have been visiting this lookout and walks for forty years, at first on my honeymoon, later walking with my children and more recently, on a brief escape from Sydney during the pandemic.
Seeing those beautiful mountains and deep misty green valleys in the glowing pink/ gold lights; all bathed in blue, never ceases to enchant.
After the heavy rains, the waterfall was noisily gushing below.

It was an easy and pleasant walk from the Visitor/Information Centre along the path, through the bush regenerating from fire damage. Great views at the first lookout, George Phillips Lookout and then a short walk on to Govetts Leap lookout. Stunning views across the valley and with the waterfall. When the walking tracks reopen, I will be back to get a closer view of the waterfall and valley.

We were staying in Blackheath so I decided to go to Govett’s Leap Lookout to watch the sun rise.
There were quite a few people watching the sunrise. Such an awesome spot to see the sunrise up through the valley.
The view over the falls is just fabulous. There is a nice picnic area and a track that goes down into the valley below. There is another track that goes round to Evans Lookout. It was very wet and muddy so that idea was shelved.

Unfortunately all the bush walks from this site are currently closed due to bushfire damage or flood damage.

That said, still an unmissable stop in the Blue Mountains. You literally walk about three steps from your car to views. Hopefully the walks will open up again soon.

The best thing was that there is no walking to get to the viewing platform. You park your vehicle right in front of the lookout. Great for anyone with limited mobility. The view is amazing in every direction and the waterfall is pretty spectacular. Definitely worth a visit.

Excellent views all around from a rather large lookout area with safety fences. Also, a great waterfall view of Govetts Leap Falls. Easy access with plenty of parking & tidy amenities. Plenty of trails to explore from here.

I can't believe I haven't been to Govett's Leap before. It must be one of the most beautiful lookouts in the Blue Mountains. Make sure you visit when you're in Blackheath, especially in the late afternoon, as you won't be disappointed.

One of the most spectacular views in the Blue Mts. Plenty of walks nearby. The walk to Evans Lookout is 90 minutes. It’s easier to walk from Govetts to Evans....more downhill. Have another car ready at Evans or it’s 3 hours back!

Look with panoramic vista of mountains and Govetts Leap Falls. It rained a lot recently so the falls were beautiful. We also walked along the cliff for awhile to stop at a few lookouts. There are a lot of trails that start from here.
