What a gem of a museum! My husband has a railway past which brought back many memories but even for non railway buff like me it was interesting to see how people travelled in the past. You can climb in and out of most of the carriages which would be fun for kids. I also hadn't realised there had been... More

My two kids loved walking into all the old style trains and pretending to be the drivers. The kids took lots of photos of all the trains and historic tools and other objects around the station. The museum attendant was very polite and helpful.

Whilst in Tenterfield we visited the old railway station with our grand kids. They had such fun looking through & climbing in & out of all the old trains. The station itself is so lovely & green with all the lovely plants . There is so many objects that are hands on for the big & small kids to experience.... More

This museum is completely manned by volunteers and is to be commended highly on the detailed approach, accuracy and sheer volume of material it houses. It was such an interesting place to visit for all ages with faithfully restored trains, carriages and station itself. Well worth a stop for a few hours.

We had visited the local tourist Information centre and they gave us some ideas of what there was to do in the area. We were so glad that we visited the Tenterfield Railway Museum. From its wonderful buildings full of things to look at, to the carriages you can go and walk through this place is marvellous. The volunteer staff... More

This was a great museum , especially as my husband remembered when it was a working rail way. The volunteers work very hard at maintaining the station and trains . It's a shame that not more people donate to it or work there. The station really needs the donations to survive. Great museum you should visit.

Wonderfully restored and preserved rail history. New exhibits of rail "trolleys". A true credit to the volunteers who keep it open.
