A fantastic place to see the amazing seahorses closeup and learn about them as well as other southern ocean residents. Even better is their Discovery Program which runs during school holidays. Our kids were part of this tour which was interesting and engaging for both adults and children. The kids helped with feeding the baby seahorses and counting them and... More

Interesting place to visit and the best part of the tour is that you can touch the sea horses! Friendly staff and tour guides and they give you a lot of information on sea horses and sea dragons. There is a large lounge on the first floor for those who prefer to sit out the tour or just relax after.

Great tour and friendly service (good coffee too). Well worth stopping in to check the sea horses out - learn a little and enjoy the view outside! Good value for money and reasonable souvenir prices on stocked items, with no high pressure sales or obligation to donate.

This is a MUST SEE for everybody visiting the Launceston area. The guided tour only takes about half an hour and shows of the work that the people concerned are doing with various seahorses. We got to see the creatures from new born to adulthood, got to hold one and heard all about their life cycle. These are remarkable creatures... More

The centre tour was brilliant with an insight into the breeding of seahorses. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and he made us coffees! What more could you want. We purchased a triple pass for Seahorse World, Platypus House and the Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Centre. I'd recommend doing those two first in the day as they have timed tours... More

This visit became a very pleasant surprise; thereare tours on the hour and we had a highly enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide who offered everything one could need as an introduction to this very interesting fish. .... and a " must see" for children. Good value for money, and probably worth a visit every year or so.

My husband and I did this a couple of years ago and since moving to Tassie, it is one of our favourite places to take our mainland visitors. Beauty Point is a lovely location with lots to offer and Platypus World is one of the highlights. The shop has some great souvenirs and there is an interesting video playing in... More

As soon as we walked in the guy at the front counter offered to us that we could join the tour already going through or else we would have to wait another 40 minutes for the next tour and so that we didn't miss out on the whole tour, he also took us through the parts that we missed after... More
