Easy walk, 6k with a steep section. Started clockwise as recommended by the rangers. I am not very fit but made the 6ks trek around the lake under 3hrs. Was really hard in one part. Steep and was exhausted at the end near the boat shed. So Really Couldn't enjoy that. Cramping calves, but wouldn't change a thing. Husband who... More

This is a very popular walk in Cradle Mountain. It is the end of the shuttle bus run and sometimes you can wait quite a while to get the shuttle return to the entrance of the park. if you drive in before about 8:15 you don;t need to ride the shuttle and can drive your car to the car park.... More

We spent a couple of days at Cradle Mountain so we had time to explore a bit the park. Dove Lake circuit is in our top 3 tracks. Every step you take a new and beautiful landscape. A must do!

You can get a shuttle down there and walk around the whole lake coming back to the car park where you started, or drive down - you need to buy a pass to go in National Parks, I was staying at Cradle Mountain Lodge and I paid $30 as a guest for a guided tour - it's one thing to... More

The circuit around dove lake affords a not to be missed view of. Cradle mountain and its surroundings. Allow 2-3 hours and you need to have a reasonable level of fitness as it gets steep in some parts. Watch out as the weather can change very quickly don't assume that you will be ok because it was sunny when you... More

Great scenic walk. Takes 2 -3 hrs to complete the circuit. If short on time do the 20 min return walk to the Glacial Rock on one side of the lake and then the 20 min return to the old boat house on the other side of the lake. The scenery is just amazing. A must do.

We took a shuttle bus from the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre to the Dover Lake for the hike. We bought a holiday pass (AUD60) which entitled us to the free shuttle and also visit this and other parks. The hike around Dove Lake took us 3 hours including rest and taking in the scenery of the lake and mountain. The... More

My husband and I, mid 40's, average fitness, thoroughly enjoyed this walk. We were on limited time so this walk suited us. We caught the shuttle bus from the information Centre with Bob the funny and knowledgeable bus driver. The weather was perfect. Plenty of photo opportunities. A lot of boardwalk which makes for an easy walk. A couple of... More
