Located an easy 10 minute level walk through rainforest from the visitors centre is Russell Falls. This is a must see if you are in the area and feel like connecting with nature. We went on a day that was less than perfect for weather and it was still very enjoyable. There are around 200 stairs that lead up to... More

A short drive out of Hobart, about and hour and you will reach the visitor centre for Russell falls. It is about a 25 min walk return to the falls. The path is very easy to walk along and the falls are just beautiful. The walk through the forest is very pretty with tree ferns and moss covered logs. Very... More

We did this lovely short walk to the falls when driving from Hobart to Strahan. You start off from inside the Visitor Centre, which is a bit unusual, but you can't get lost and you can come back via a slightly different route making it almost a circular walk. it was well worth doing when we did it on 20... Short drive from Hobart just over the hour gives you access to this easy and accessible walk through deep moss covered forest littered with ancient old fallen trees and majestic tree ferns . Perfect day for us , mid week not overcrowded and sun filtering through the tall trees to make the velvet moss light up and glisten. I enjoyed... More

The walk is stunningly beautiful and very flat, so people with mobility issues would have no issues being able to go see these beautiful falls. Even though when me and my partner went it wasn't a heavy flow, it was still worth it and I can't want to come back during the winter months!

Stopped here to walk the forest. Beautiful tall trees in a quiet setting. Great chance to see wallabies along the lower trail. Outstanding foliage of all kinds with some good signage explain what we're looking at.

The falls really are impressive, and it's the most accessible national park we found is tassie or Victoria. The short trip from the at park would be easily accessible for a wheelchair. The stair climb to the top of the falls is a nice, somewhat less crowded addition if you don't mind a little exercise. The Tall Trees walk nearby... More

As natural wonders go, Russell Falls is hard to beat with its Lord of the Rings style forest and gorgeous falls. Pretty hard to not have a great time here.
