We ended up with tickets for the premier seats up the top of the boat with the captain. The service was brilliant, drinks and food were divine. The cruise was informative but not over the top, the trip to Sarah Island was a highlight. A great relaxing enjoyable day out.

Our second visit to Strahan after 30 years. It is a shame to see this small township become so commercial that you have to pay to park your vehicle. You cannot visit here without going on a river cruise and the Gordon River Cruise is an excellent choice. There are 3 levels of seating. Top deck with drinks included, and... More

The Gordon River cruise is a good reason to visit Strahan. You spend about six hours on a very comfortable high-speed boat seeing most of Macquarie Bay, including the opening to the Southern Ocean, a cruise down part of the rainforest-bordered Gordon River and a short, easy, beautiful walk into a small section of the rainforest. You also take a... More

What a great day we had on the Lady Jane Franklin Gordon River Cruise. We were so lucky with the weather as it was clear and sunny. We didn't pre-book just got our ticket when we arrived. As seating is allocated we chose to pay for standard with the buffet lunch as you are not restricted from moving around the... More

The cruise was very good, took us out past the heads, then turned around cruising through McQuarie Harbor past salmon breeding areas and up the Gordon River. Very deep and peaceful river, with a lot of History. The cruise stopped at Sarah Island where we were given a talk about the historical aspects of the convict settlement. Very interesting to... Really enjoyed the cruise today. We hopped off to do a small rainforest walk up the Gordon River, and also at Sarah Island where we received a great guided tour. The feed was great and the young fella who was our guide through the day gave it a solid crack! Great day out, don't miss it. B

We went on the " Lady Jane" for the Gordon River Cruise. We paid the extra to go on the Captains Deck. Luxury seating, waitress service, constant free drinks, alcoholic or otherwise and amazing food. It was a rainy day but the cruise was still fantastic. Lots of commentary and stories of the " Piners". We can definitely recommend this... More

A wonderful day out in an extremely comfortable and very clean luxury catamaran. Huge picture windows, very generous coach style seating, engaging commentary and really knowledgeable guides. You disembark at several points and even the captain joins us at one point to walk us through a Huon pine forest and explain the history of this rugged and remote wilderness area.... More

Dont come to the tasmanian west coast without going up the gordon river on the Lady Franklin 2....(though the other boat operator, world heritage cruises ? is probably pretty good too, the boats looked similar and I expect both do a great job) the standard of this boat for a day trip on the water is first class. the staff... Tasmania is one of those places where the wilderness is still largely untouched. The brackish water the cold climate rainforest and the winding river is a memorable experience. Start off in Strahn and follow the path of the river, head to the river mouth and admire the windswept beaches of Tasmania!
