We booked the trip that started at 9:00 and it ended a little after 2:30. The gold seats were nice as they included morning tea and some service. It was not full at all. We were lucky enough to have a sunny day which is rare since Strahan only gets 15.7 clear days in a year. The seas was calm... More

This trip gets rave reviews however I found the experience very mixed. I would be very wary of taking this if there are a lot of people. The wild scenery speaks for itself - however - the commentary by the ship captain was poorly delivered - he just read from a sheet at speed for the first twenty minutes or... More

When you visit Strahan, you just have to take the World Heritage Cruise of Macquarie harbour and the Gordon River. If you are as lucky as we have been, you get to go out through Hells Gates into the Roaring 40's ( providing it's a calm day ) and then go back through the harbour and cruise up the Gordon... More

This was a wonderful relaxing day. Wonderful scenery, excellent quality lunch, drinks NOT the usual cruise rip-off pricing, friendly and knowledgeable staff. We were lucky enough to have one of the few days a year calm enough to go outside the harbour as well so extra bonus. Please, people, support this family owned business - the opposition have a virtual... More

We loved this trip - very helpful staff, a good lunch and fantastic scenery. We got to see the roaring forties and feel the swell that must have been terrifying for new arrivals to Strahan. The captain and crew are very knowledgeable which made this an excellent trip.

This company are 1st rate, we chartered the boat for a 3 hour late afternoon/evening cruise with dinner for 46 people. The staff were most cooperative, courteous and knowledgeable. The cost was far less than the opposition (Gordon River Cruises) and when booking whatever we wanted, they obliged. Cannot recommend highly enough.

A different perspective to Tasmania - the seeing living history on Macquarie Harbour and the Gordon River. First stop the harbour entrance - in the "old" days would have been challenging and frightening, then Sarah Island and its contribution to the skilled boat builders of yesteryear in also very trying conditions, past the fish farms to the heritage forests and... Our adventure had us heading out from Strahan up the Macquarie harbour, out Hells Gate to Cape Sorrel (a real rarity)! We then headed back to Sarah's Island where we had a great walk around the island with a guide retelling us a great story of the history of the island. After that we headed up the Gordon river to Heritage... More

Thirty years on the haunting beauty of the Franklin River in midwinter still lingers. These days the Macquarie Harbour and Franklin River cruises are world-class with purpose built modern vessels that cover much more of the wilderness area. But along the way they may have lost some of the quaintness of the traditional much slower moving vessels and the sense... More
