This was our highlight on the visit to Kelleys Island. They have a number of signs explaining the history of the grooves from how they were formed to how they were uncovered in the 1970's. amazing to see the power of the slow moving glacier.

I never knew the Glacial where there! I was doing some sightseeing after anchoring in the North Bay. Nice area and peaceful! Kelleys Island is very relaxing. The Geology is fascinating and I will be going back!

Very interesting to tour the site and read the placards placed around the walkway. The grooves are protected by a chain link fence to prevent damage but visibility is not impared. You will be amazed when you see this formation.

The Glacial Grooves of Kelley's Island turned out to be a great find for us. I enjoy geology with history, and finding this important remnant of a fascinating period of earth's history was unexpected and rewarding. The site is fun to get to - as one must transport to Kelley's Island via plane or on one of the ferrys. We... More

Just take a walk around the grooves and let the placards tell the story. It's fascinating! My husband and I spent a couple of hours here reading and enjoying the views. There are very few places like it!

It took us quite a bit to be sure of where the Grooves could be accessed. Once we found them, they were interesting albeit no need to plan on a long visit. 30 minutes is probably enough time.

This was one of our highlights of our visit to Kelley's Island. Excellent views of the glacieral grooves. I included pics and one of the plaques explaining the history (there are more). The grooves are very impressive.

A long stretch of rock "dragstrip" clearly carved by glaciers. If you don't appreciate geology, don't bother.

Visited this attraction twice-once when I was 16 and 50 years later. Still find it interesting and amazing. parking is available and not a strenuous walk around the property. You can take it all in with a 15 minute stop.
