Quaint old theater

This place is an old run down theatre that has become a venue for live music.the sound system isn't super loud but it's clean and the sound man seems to know what he's doing. The place is a little grungy and the seating needs replaced, but still not a bad place for a show. Unfortunately, the types of shows that... More

Classic, eclectic, acoustic, you name it Kent Stage has it. Great venue to get up close and personal with your favorite musicians. I recently attended at Todd Rundgren concert here and It was off the charts great show. This is an old time movie theater converted to the concert stage. If you're ever in Kent Ohio, check out the offerings... More

Have attended several concerts in past year. The intimacy and sound quality make for a nice concert experience. It could use some TLC, but the "worn" feel is part of the appeal of this neat old theater. Don't expect a lot other than a good night of entertainment.

A friend and I recently attended a concert at the Kent Stage. The lovely jazz virtuoso Esperanza Spalding. Although the theater is not refurbished (at great expense) like some theaters, the staff were very good, and the music was especially fantastic. There is a full bar at the venue, and the acoustics were excellent. We sat 3 rows from the... More

We went here to see Graham Nash. The concert was great, sound was pretty good. But the theater......you know those great old theaters that have been beautifully restored? Well this isn't one of them. When the doors opened, 20 minutes late, we were greeted by the smell of mildew. Walking through the doors I was dreading having to spend a... More

I really appreciate that communities are finding ways to use these old theaters again. It's very intimate for a concert like this. I had a good time

What a wonderful show that Bacon Bros put on, that was marred by the lack of security. After a few songs, a lady came from the back up to the front to dance and Security came and told her to return to her seat. Then Kevin said, "You can dance." He didn't say for everyone who paid $40 to come... More

The Kent Stage is a great place to hear/see a concert with good sound equipment and engineers and not a bad seat in the house. It has a drink service area outside the concert hall but it isn't a bar atmosphere so don't go there looking for a "club". The restrooms are somewhat sketchy since they are frequented by folks... Have seen some world class bands here. Watch the schedule. Reasonable prices. Small venue. Intimate. Was four rows back for Cowboy Junkies. Same for Dave Mason. Steven Stills, Savoy Brown.

very laid-back old, nostalgic style theater. Nothing fancy, nor spectacular, but a GREAT venue for an intimate experience with acts & artists. If you're expecting something fancy this is not for you. We enjoyed a concert by former American Idol winner, David Cook. Opening act was Tony Luca, a former contesting on "the Voice". Both were quite entertaining ... at... More
