So who would expect to find a replica of an old English Castle nestled in the woods in Ohio, I didn't but was very pleasantly surprised. The castle was built by Harry Anderson with stone taken from the creek in front of the castle. If you enjoy history this castle, even though not ancient history, is a great place to... More

This is a hidden gem in Cincinnati! From the outside, you'd think you were out in rural England somewhere. There is an area near the river where you could picnic, and the castle itself offers lovely gardens. Be sure to get a guided tour of the castle. It is really inexpensive and very informative. My friend and I have have... More

Built by one man and some intrepid Order of the Arrow helpers, Castle LaRoche is a small castle built out of bricks made by hand in small milk cartons. There is a dungeon, small circular staircase, and upper rooms. Worth the trip, especially when the flowers are in bloom in the gardens! Special spooky events around Halloween as well.

Castle itself is pretty cool in that it was made from bricks that were formed from putting cement in aluminum cans in the milk cartons. It's also made of rocks carried up from the Little Miami River. The first floor is a German type Castle the second floor is a French design and the top floor is it English battle... More

Very nice tour with the guide. Was part of the original kids who helped build the castle many years ago. Also road to get there is exciting. Be prepared to go up and down many steps. Luv'd it.

I went here with my sweetheart as a side trip from Columbus to another place ranked ranked as one of the "Top 12 small cities with a cool vibe" in Ohio. The top attraction was the Loveland castle and I have to admit it exceeded my expectations, primarily because of the history (not to have too many spoilers but it... More

We went because we thought it's one of those places "you just have to see" because it's there. It's cheap enough to visit but if you're sensitive to musty smells and dark, narrow places this may not be a tour you want to take! Otherwise, it's a unique experience.

On the right bank of the Miami river presides a handmade castle built by Harry Andrews open only Saturday and Sunday. This river rock castle stands as witness of one man's dream and is a great example of human persistence and endurance. At the entrance is a guide who can answer any questions one may have.Later in the day this guide... More

This from the outside looks like a small castle compared to European castles. We were unable to walk the grounds or get a tour due to the unposted "Winter Hours" on the sites we visited for information. If you don't like winding roads, you might need to avoid driving to it. The roads are narrow, steep and winding. I managed... More

We visited this castle after receiving a travel tip from TripAdvisor. Amazing architecture, great story surrounding the background of this structure and the man who designed it. Beautiful gardens and interesting employees. We had a great time.
