I really knew nothing about President Garfield. This was an excellent history lesson. The house is amazing. Unfortunately there was a lot of scaffolding on the outside as workmen replace the roof so the exterior was somewhat obscured. But the inside is magnificent. Over 80%...More

There is a lot of information and many things to see at this site, but the highlight is definitely the tour of the old mansion where the Garfield family lived. It is fascinating to me that nearly all the objects in the house were owned...More

Really enjoyed a revisit to this beautiful Victorian estate. A Jewell in Americas crown that is missed every day. I had a business meeting 1/2 mile away and I was the only participant who was a non local. Also I was the only one that...More

About a half hour depending on traffic. You will also be in Mentor, Ohio. The Garfield residence is very close to the Mentor Mall and tons of shopping and restaurants.

I would plan on at least two hours. The house tour is docent led, thus time controlled, but then time to linger on the grounds and in the museum are also needed. Don't miss the film.
